V-Belts V belts are now the basic standard belt for power transmission. They are usually endless belts, although they can also be jointed and linked. They are manufactured from rubber or polymer, sometimes with fibres added for extra strength. The V shape of the belt fits into a groove on the pulley so it cannot slip. As the load applied increases, the more firmly the V shape fits into the groove. The wedge shape of the belt means that they can very easily be aligned. They are found in applications across a wide range of industries.
Poly-V Belts Poly-V belts are drive belts with a much larger contact area than flat belts or standard V-belts, which means they are able to transmit more power than a flat belt of a similar size. This means that they are excellent when you require high speed drives within a small space. There is no need to use a stepped pulley if you use a poly-V belt, you can also drive several accessories from one belt drive if you use a serpentine belt installation.
Cogged V-Belts Cogged belts offer better air flow which leads to cooler running. As cogged belts aren't wrapped the cross sectional area that would normally be occupied by the cover is used for greater load carrying cord. Cogged belts are more flexible and can therefore be operated with smaller sheaves.
Lawn & Garden Belts Wrapped V-Belts with a coloured dry cotton cover, the belts have a large diameter of ARAMID (Kevlar) cords, impregnated with special compound which eliminates the need for re-tensioning and offers high tensile strength and a high resistance to shock loads.Available in standard sections – 3L, 4L and 5L sections.
Double Angled Belts Double angled belts, also known as double V-belts, are designed for use on drives with one or more reverse bends. They often transmit power from both sides of the belt. To meet the multiple-bend and dual-power requirements, double angle belts are made with rugged Vytacord tension members. They deliver maximum strength with minimum elongation. They also work with all the other quality materials that are a part of our Hex belts to deliver maximum performance over a long, trouble-free life.
